This film is about a woman who is kidnapped by a survivalist who claims he saved her life and forces her to stay with him in his survival bunker. It was originally going to be called 'Valencia' but it was all a trick!

The twist here is that the creepy survivalist kidnapper totally did save her life because this is the SEQUEL TO CLOVERFIELD. Actually, according to Collider, J.J. Abrams has called it more of a "blood relative" than a direct sequel.

The movie is still going to be directed by Dan Trachenburg who got a lot of attention in the past for his short film based on the video game Portal.

By Grabthar's Hammer what a devastating loss. Esteemed British Actor Alan Rickman has passed away at 69 after a battle with cancer.

Rickman was known by many for his exceptional portrayal of the complex and conflicted villain Severus Snape in the films adapted from J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books.

But real-talk the strapping lad could make most anything epic.

From his acclaimed role as criminal mastermind Hans Gruber in Die Hard:

To that time when director, Kevin Smith, recognized he'd happened upon a British stud who had a voice deeper and richer than a Ghirardelli 98% Dark Chocolate bar. Yeah the voice of a god. Literally:

To what was one of his arguably best roles as Colonel Brandon in Ang Lee's 'Sense and Sensibility':

Throughout his career Rickman continually demonstrated an awe-inspiring range, while at the same time establishing himself as something of a legendary 'bad guy.' Let's get real though, his bit in Galaxy Quest — the epic sci-fi romp — kind of takes the cake.

RIP Alan Rickman, you'll be fiercely missed.

Even the snobbiest film buff is liable to break down into tears at the beginning of UP but it turns out that there's a lot more to Pixar movies for a cinephile to appreciate. This short video shows, shot for shot, how many sneaky references to classic films are packed into these kids movies. Some are easier to spot than others, you probably had no idea watching Toy Story for the first time that this scene was a reference to Total Recall but an adult who's seen Total Recall may have noticed it:

On the other hand, who could have guess how many references Finding Nemo would make to Kramer vs Kramer:

Yup. As fate would see fit, it just so happens you've only scratched the surface of highly refined, impressively customizable, Netflix-binge-a-thon experience.

Netflix usually operates with a user-navigation system configured such that you can search for shows and/or movies by titles or common genres--Romance, Action & Adventure. Thing is, there's a hidden way to work around this.

The URL for something simple as 'Documentaries" is http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/6839; but by changing the numerical segment at the end the URL you can discover 'Controversial Foreign Movies' (2273) and a whole mess of other uber specialized genres.

This little Netflix hack opens up a world of possibilities, and all cheesy slogans aside, there's about to be something for everyone looking to kick back and check out with this clutch streaming service.

Again with the buggy graphics rendering issue, really?

Okay, not really. Check out the actual picture below. Michael Fassbender's set to play both Lynch and Aguilar in the up and coming Assassin's Creed movie. He's pictured alongside his co-star Ariane Labed. We're all crossing our fingers and wishing upon falling stars that this doesn't end up the next 'Prince of Persia' catastrophe.

Fassbender who's also producing this film, employed his Macbeth filmmaker Kurzel, to take charge on the video game adaptation. This move adds great depth to the behind-the-scenes team. Even better, Kurzel brought along Adam Arkapow, who served as the DP on Macbeth and the first season of a little show called True Detective. It's no great mystery that we've a lot to be excited about here. The film features a knockout supporting cast, which includes Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, and Michael K. Williams; it's slated to premiere December 21st, 2016.
