Wes Anderson, the director of The Royal Tenenbaums, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and The Fantastic Mr. Fox, has directed commercials before, and he’s directed train movies before, but he’s never done a Christmas commercial set on a train before. If that’s what you were waiting for, Anderson-heads, then your wish has come true.

Anderson has just released a new, fantastically produced commercial for H&M. Fans of the director are sure to see his recognizable finger prints all over the advertisement, which features star Adrian Brody putting together a last-minute Christmas tree for the few passengers of the “Winter Express.”

The commercial is sure to raise your spirits and get you to the mall asap.

Watch out Disney. There might soon be a new magical (Moonrise?) kingdom filled with Bill Murray, 3-legged dogs, dysfunctional families and absolute perfect symmetry.

In the foreword to Devo co-founder and Mark Mothersbaugh's new art book, Anderson, who has collaborated with Mothersbaugh to score many of his iconic films, wrote about his intentions to design a theme park.

"I hope to soon secure the means to commission the construction of an important and sizeable theme park to be conceived and designed entirely by Mark Mothersbaugh," writes Anderson. "For 40 years he has set about creating a body of work which amounts to his own Magic Kingdom, where the visitor is amused and frightened, often simultaneously."

Let's just sit and watch this POV video of vehicles in Wes Anderson films to get a sense of what the rides might be like until this project becomes a reality.

From noted quirk-maker Wes Anderson and stop-motion animation studio Laika (Coraline) comes the first in a series of 60-spots for Sony's Xperia line of smartphone.

For the campaign, Sony asked kids what they thought made the Xperia phones so smart, and then animated their responses.

There is also a brief making-of video, which you can watch here.

Indie Car Ads of the Day: Two blink-and-you-missed-them TV spots for the 2012 Hyundai Azera, which aired during last night's Oscars telecast, were directed by none-other-than art house landlord Wes Anderson.

Through the employment of his distinctive mise-en-scène, the acclaimed auteur adds an invigorating dash of whimsy to what would otherwise be just another ad for yet another car.
