Antidepressant of the Day: China Covers Up Dead Plants With Pictures of Plants to Cheer People Up

China is fighting the good fight against nature - doing everything it can to keep Winter at bay.

To help battle the blues, the city of Changchun in China is installing plastic sheeting with pictures of lush, green shrubbery around the edge of the street, hiding all of the real plants which are now brown and bare.

"Many people feel depressed in the winter, and the site of the denuded trees only contributes to that feeling," said a local official. "We want to try and cheer people up a bit by putting some greenery around to make them feel better."

Thousands of meters of the plastic sheeting were rolled out this week, and if they're lucky, plastic flowers may be on the way as well. Seriously.

Just don't bother stopping to smell these roses.

The British Embassy in Kiev sassily tweeted out a helpful guide on Wednesday to help the Russians identify their tanks in Ukraine, which they claim aren't actually there.

The image includes a graphic showing some of the features of a T-72BM tank, as well as photos of them reportedly spotted in the area in the past few months.

At the G20 summit this past week, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper told Russian President Vladimir Putin to "get out of the Ukraine."

Putin's response: "That's impossible because we are not there."

Insect of the Day: Freaky, Carnivorous Glow Worm Discovered in Peru

Nature photographer Jeff Cremer was working in the jungles of Tambopata, Peru a few years ago, when he uncovered several dozen worms in the soil glowing a strange green color.

Local entomologists had never seen anything like it before in the region but came to the conclusion that the animal is possibly the larvae of an unknown species of click beetle. He initially posted pictures of his findings on Reddit to help solve the mystery.

The .5-inch long worms have since been determined to be carnivorous as well, and use the glowing light to attract their prey into their terrifying jaws before chowing down.

Entomologist Aaron Pomerantz recently took a trip down to Peru with Cremer to investigate further, which you can watch in the video above.
