Lego builder Ken Robichaud created brick versions of the Avengers' signature weapons, including Cap's shield, Hawkeye's bow, and Mjolnir.

These aren't puny weapons meant to be wielded by minifigs, though: they're full-scale models for full-sized heroes.

Firefly is the latest iconic geek franchise to get the Lego treatment on Lego's Cuusoo crowdsourcing site, thanks to builder tbone_tbl.

T-Bone's proposed Firefly set includes a model of the Serenity, plus minifig designs for Captain Mal and the crew.

The playset could use a little more Browncoat support to make it in front of Lego's jury: it currently stands at 8,500 of the required 10,000 votes to be considered for conversion into an official set.

Rick Hamel's RC dragon, called Mythical Beast, is seven feet long with a nine-foot wingspan, and it both flies and breathes fire.

The Beast is powered by a Jetcat P80 Kerostart turbine, and its fiery breath is courtesy of a liquid propane tank and stun-gun circuit. Sounds totally safe!

Where's the Dovahkiin when you need him?

Meet The Goliathon, an immense steampunk-modded Nerf gun with "all the horsepower of a full-size steam locomotive."

It was created by steampunk propmaker Professor T. Lemetry using a Nerf Vulcan Blaster, copper piping, four different gauges and a valve handle.

It's currently for sale at the good prof's Etsy shop, Steampunk 101, for $350.

Back to the Future is the latest hot property to be turned into a Lego set and submitted to Lego's Cuusoo crowdsourced idea site.

The BTTF project includes Marty and Doc minifigs for each movie in the trilogy, and (of course) the DeLorean Time Machine. (Lego Hill Valley will have to wait for another set.)

The DeLorean has already scored the 10,000 votes it needs to be considered by Lego's jury, and -- with none of the ratings issues of the rejected Shaun of the Dead set -- it seems likely to be approved.

Of course, Lego will still have to hammer out the licensing agreement and produce its own final designs for the toys, so it could be a while before we see them on shelves. 2015 would make an appropriate release date, no?

Lego builder Peter Krueger has posted his toy version of Ghost In The Shell's spider-like Tachikoma walkers to Cuusoo, the crowdsourcing site where Lego solicits ideas for official sets.

The 'bot actually moves, which might make it expensive if it makes the cut as a real Lego product. Krueger estimates the little guy would retail for $150 to $200.

Even if it gets the votes, though, passing Lego's jury panel might be a tall order. They recently rejected a replica of the Winchester Pub from PG-13 horror-comedy Shaun of the Dead, and the Ghost in the Shell anime, although critically acclaimed, carries an R rating for nudity and gore.
