With an Amazon pre-order, fans will be able to play as Stan "The Man" Lee in Beenox's upcoming Amazing Spider-Man game. As this Gamespot video can attest, Stan does whatever a spider can. The "pre-order-only content" trend may be frustrating, but it's tempting to play as the greatest high-flying geriatric since Pixar's Up.

Sony is out with a new behind-the-scenes featurette for the Amazing Spider-Man. While the focus is on the character Gwen Stacy, played by Emma Stone, we also get several interviews with other actors and a closer look at the Lizard.

Marvel Entertainment has released the most action-packed Amazing Spider-Man trailer yet, with less teenage spider-drama, more fight scenes, and more hints about the mystery of Peter Parker's parents.

The Amazing Spider-Man isn't even out yet, but Sony is getting a jump on the sequel, tapping all-star writing duo Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Cowboys & Aliens, Transformers) to do a pass on the script for Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Kurtzman and Orci don't just do blockbusters, though: their drama People Like Us opens this summer, and that may be the best indication of how they'll handle the more dramatic side of Spider-Man.

The Amazing Spider-Man opens June 30, and the sequel is due in May 2014.

Here's a new poster for the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man reboot. It's a closer look at the costume and the eyes, which always seem to be a point of contention for fans who are divided by the original Steve Ditko design and the Todd McFarlane version.

Three new clips from The Amazing Spider-Man have made their way to the web -- in grainy phone-cam form, anyway -- after being revealed in an iPhone-based contest from Sony and Kellogg's.

This new footage focuses on the lighter side of Peter Parker's transformation from awkward teenager to awkward teenager who is also Spider-Man.

The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans, hits theaters July 3rd.

Comics icon Stan Lee is well-known for making cameos in Marvel movies, and now it looks like he's going to be in a Marvel video game, too. Even better, he'll be a playable character. Excelsior!

At the London Super Comic Convention, Lee revealed that players will be able to control him in The Amazing Spider-Man, developed by Activision Blizzard subsidiary Beenox.

It's not yet clear whether you'll be able to play the whole game as Lee, or whether he'll just be available in some kind of DLC bonus mission. It's also not known whether Stan the Man will have the same powers as his creation, or have moves of his own.

The Amazing Spider-Man game is due out June 26th.
