The Angry Birds official Tumblr posted this image today, claiming the next big thing is near. In all likelihood, it's a new bundle of levels for Angry Birds Space with a Star Wars theme, but with such a giant property it could very well be a whole new game.

And the strangest product branding of the day goes to Green Day-themed Angry Birds. What?

A new content pack for Facebook app Angry Birds Friends centers entirely around the pop-rock trio to promote a new album. Or something.

Angry Birds may be a worldwide phenomenon, but it's still bogged down by those stone-age touch controls. Multi-touch zooming? Barbaric.

A band of pioneers have dreamed up a physical controller for upset avian adventuring, and it works just the way you would imagine it to.

In case you weren't already convinced that Angry Birds has taken its home country by storm: Finland's Särkänniemi Adventure Park has opened a brand-new Angry Birds-themed attraction featuring 12 rides, an "adventure course," interactive games and food.

Angry Birds Land is already open for visitors, but the official grand opening is slated for June 8th.

Following the successful release of Angry Birds Space, Rovio has announced that its iconic avians and their green pig arch-nemeses will be starring in a 52-episode cartoon series that will be available on "all possible platforms."

"Angry Birds is not just about the game-play," said Rovio's head of animation, Nick Dorra, "It will, in the future, be less and less about the slingshot and more about the characters and their adventures and all different kinds of games in different forms."

Meanwhile, Rovio reports that the Angry Birds movie won't be out until at least 2015.

Rovio and T-Mobile celebrated the launch of Angry Birds Space by dangling a 35-foot version of the red bird from a 300-foot slingshot attached to the top of Seattle's Space Needle.

Fans of the game were invited to an event at the top of the famous landmark, and offered free cupcakes and a chance to play the freshly-launched new installment in the Angry Birds series.

The stunt will be followed by launch of official Angry Birds Space merchandise next week, and a "Golden Eggsteroids" promo contest in conjunction with Walmart and T-Mobile that will allow players to unlock hidden levels in the new game.

Angry Birds Space was released Thursday for iOS, Android, Mac and PC.

The launch trailer for Rovio's hotly-anticipated Angry Birds Space is now online, one day ahead of the game's official release.

The new video features the iconic birds in space-themed costumes, and also includes a bit of gameplay footage showing some of the new gravitational physics that NASA astronaut Don Pettit promised in the Angry Birds Space announcement trailer.

Angry Birds Space slingshots onto Android, iOS, Mac and PC tomorrow.
