Marvel dropped a bombshell at their New York Comic-Con panel today, announcing Clark Gregg will reprise his role as Agent Phil Coulson in Joss Whedon's live-action television series Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. The actor made a surprise appearance at the Marvel Television Presents panel, promoting Ultimate Spiderman.
This comes as welcome news, especially after Gregg's well-received appearances in recent Marvel films. Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. will be produced by Joss and Jed Whedon, along with Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb.

Teenage bouts to the death are apparently all the rage these days, but Marvel's not playing coy with their reference material for Avengers Arena.
The Battle Royale-inspired new title starts this December, as a follow-up to Avengers Academy and should be bloody good fun, albeit cash-grabby.
