Back to the Future is the latest hot property to be turned into a Lego set and submitted to Lego's Cuusoo crowdsourced idea site.

The BTTF project includes Marty and Doc minifigs for each movie in the trilogy, and (of course) the DeLorean Time Machine. (Lego Hill Valley will have to wait for another set.)

The DeLorean has already scored the 10,000 votes it needs to be considered by Lego's jury, and -- with none of the ratings issues of the rejected Shaun of the Dead set -- it seems likely to be approved.

Of course, Lego will still have to hammer out the licensing agreement and produce its own final designs for the toys, so it could be a while before we see them on shelves. 2015 would make an appropriate release date, no?

Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, creators of Harold and Kumar and directors of American Reunion, started a bit of a buzz by telling Moviehole that they wanted to remake Back to the Future someday.

When asked what franchise they'd like to revive now that they've brought back American Pie, Hurwitz said, "We want Back to the Future, just come out and say it. That's our favorite trilogy. We're always having this conversation ..."

He went on to say that they'd never consider touching the movie until "30 years from now when Spielberg's like 90 and those guys are kind of on their way out" and the original BTTF films look "old."

But, fortunately for Back to the Future fans, Hurwitz clarified on Twitter that he was just joking. As serious fans of the series themselves, Hurwitz and Schlossberg consider a remake somewhat sacrilegious.

"We were totally joking when saying we wanted it. Joking about remaking BTTF is like when Larry David jokes about Hodgkin's or Trey & Matt joke about AIDS. One of the few truly taboo topics," Hurwitz said.

He does believe the movie will eventually be remade, though, because every Hollywood classic will eventually get a remake "for business reasons," and because Back to the Future is "so f*cking awesome the world needs those stories."

DeLorean Quadrotor of the Day

YouTuber native118 has customized a flying quadrotor to look like the DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future.

Although the shape of the car's body makes the quadrotor's flight a bit uneven, it manages to stay stable thanks to MultiWii software.

Now that the DeLorean is off the ground, all that remains is to get it up to 88 mph. That might take a real Mr. Fusion in the trunk instead of a model version, though.

If you're still reeling from the news that Mattel's official Back to the Future hoverboard doesn't actually hover, maybe this will cheer you up: Mondo, purveyor of stylish limited-edition movie art, has finally gotten around to announcing a set of posters for the Back to the Future trilogy.

Each of the three posters -- designed by Phantom City Creative -- shows a different section of the Delorean. When assembled, they form the entire time-traveling car. The posters will each get a limited print run of 420.

There's also a 3-in-1 variant, released an even-more-limited edition of 115.

The posters go on sale this Friday, March 2nd, at a randomly-selected time. The start of the sale will be announced via Twitter.
