China's Ministry of Culture is dragging its heels on approving Diablo III, so eager gamers have come up with a workaround in order to get their hands on the game before it legally lands in stores. Currently, to get a copy of Diablo III in China requires not a search for "Diablo III," "Diablo 3," or "D3."
The search term that leads to the game is in fact "Big Pineapples."
Big pineapple in Chinese is "da boluo," which sounds close enough to "Diablo" to make sense. But just in case, many listings for the game include a picture of a pineapple, to get around hardcore Internet monitoring.
