The captains of all five Star Trek television series' stood in a room together for only the second time ever this weekend, and first on foreign soil. The quintet reunited at the Destination Star Trek convention in London, which is the UK's first official Trekkie gathering in ten years.

The Star Trek universe stretches over a wide range of time and space, with most new installments launching in their own realm. However, a new unofficial web series is telling the story from the point when Captain Kirk, Spock and the rest of the original gang walked off the set forever back in 1969.

Star Trek Continues isn't set for full production until October, but the first few released scenes indicate a faithful reconstruction of 1960s-era sci-fi.
