Beleaguered CNN didn't do itself any favors recently when host Carol Costello "welcomed" Bill Nye the Science Guy to a segment about fire and climate change:
If you Google your name, 'Bill Nye,' you're the kooky guy who doesn't know what he's talking about... You want to defend yourself?

CNN may be in talks to acquire social media news site Mashable for more than $200 million, according to a rumor reported by Reuters and the New York Times.
CNN hasn't commented on the acquisition, except to deny reports that it would be announced this Tuesday, and Mashable chief Pete Cashmore has told his senior editors that a buyout is not imminent.
Mashable has operated independently for its entire seven-year existence, but it does partner with other news organizations who republish some of its stories, including ABC and, yes, CNN.
