Turns out the original Prometheus screenplay had a face huggers, as evident by this totally NSFW chestburster concept art depicting Charlie Holloway suffering a similar fate as Officer Kane in the original Alien. At least Holloway's demise was written into a steamy sex romp, so he had that going for him.

The final image of Season 2 of Game of Thrones provided the first full glimpse of the White Walkers, as they marched towards The Wall. Now, we have a detailed look at what these frightening creatures will look like.

Artist Martin Rezard, who has designed creatures for Doctor Who, Farscape and Attack of the Clones, developed these conceptual renderings of the icy beings, who are destined to haunt the Thrones universe -- and our dreams.

Before Paul Verhoeven made 1990s Total Recall, David Cronenberg pitched his own vision of the film, which would have hewed more closely to the source material (Philip K. Dick's story We Can Remember It For You Wholesale) than Verhoeven's action flick did.

Over at io9, artist Ron Miller has released a big batch of concept art from that never-was Cronenberg film -- the director went on to make The Fly instead -- and it gives a good look at the Total Recall that could have been.

The threat of a live-action Akira movie lies dormant for now, but some recently-released concept art by Sylvain Despretz (Gladiator, Alien Resurrection) shows what the movie could look like if it ever does come to fruition.

Or, more to the point, these sketches from sometime between 2007 and 2009 reveal what the movie would have looked like under previous director Ruairi Robinson, who left Akira a few years back, sparking hope from manga fans that the project would be scrapped.

If the Akira remake ever does rise from the dead, we can only hope Garrett Hedlund won't be dying his hair blonde for the role of Kaneda.
