Ready Player One author Ernie Cline is giving away a 1981 Delorean, a car which features prominently in the novel -- in heavily-modified form, anyway -- and which Cline drove across the country on his book tour.
And all you have to do to win the car is find a well-hidden easter egg in the English-language print version of the book (which has been out for 10 months without anyone solving the puzzle). Oh, and then you have to pass three increasingly challenging video game tests, which will roll out over the summer at the rate of 1 per month. No big deal.
The only hint is that the easter egg is a URL, and the first challenge is based on the Atari 2600. Sounds like the contest won't be easy, but it also sounds totally worth it for a DeLorean.
