In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except that Sean Bean will die in every movie or show he appears in.

That doesn't stop him from turning up for season 2 of Game of Thrones in this spoof video from Jetpacks Go!

It's not all doom and gloom for poor Sean, though. Stick around until the end to see him land a role where his character isn't tragically killed off.

... well, sort of.

Gram of Thrones: a single-serving Tumblr that reminds you that winter is coming, and everyone knows that's the best time to take faux-vintage filtered photos.

Stavros Stavropolous swore an oath as a rapper to take no wife, hold no lands, father no children, wear no crowns and win no glory. He shall live and die at his mic.

Yeah, that may have been a mistake.

DeviantArtist Dynamaito delivers a screenshot from Game of Thrones Excel, the Marvel-vs.-Capcom-style Thrones fighting game of our (wolf) dreams.

Unfortunately, this Song of Street and Fighter remains firmly in the realm of fiction. How cool is that "Winter is Coming" super meter?

It's official: HBO has renewed Game of Thrones for a third season, after just two episodes of season 2.

Season 3 will span 10 episodes, which producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss say won't be enough to cover all of the events of the third book in George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire.

Weiss:

A Storm of Swords is too long to fit in a single season. ... And as readers know, A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons take place during roughly the same time frame, so we'll have to fold those together. The plan, if we're lucky enough to be given the opportunity to see it through, is to use as many seasons as we need to tell the story as a whole, to do justice to George's entire opus.

If Game of Thrones keeps pulling in stellar ratings and cleaning up at awards shows, it looks like there's a good chance they'll get that opportunity.
