Teenage bouts to the death are apparently all the rage these days, but Marvel's not playing coy with their reference material for Avengers Arena.
The Battle Royale-inspired new title starts this December, as a follow-up to Avengers Academy and should be bloody good fun, albeit cash-grabby.

Just over a month shy of Community's October 19 season premiere, we're getting some sweet details on the first episode -- and it's going to be a Hunger Games parody.
If you're not sold on the idea already, remember that the show has a long history of tasteful spoofs that refuse to make the easy jokes. Plus, it's competition over enrollment for a class called "The History of ice Cream."

No official statements have been made, but strong rumors are swirling that Sam Claflin (Snow White and the Huntsman) has been tapped to play The Hunger Games: Catching Fire's Finnick Odair. At least it's not Robert Pattinson.
The rumor mill continues to spin, with reports that Monk's Tony Shalhoub is finalizing negotiations to portray the film's tech wizard, Beetee. Hopefully that's true -- it sounds like a perfect pick for the quirky tinkerer.

With Hunger Games director Gary Ross confirmed he won't be back for a second film, Lionsgate is zeroing in on a few candidates to take the reins of Catching Fire this August.
The all-star shortlist reportedly includes Alfonso Cuaron (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban), David Cronenberg (A History of Violence) and Alejandro González Iñárritu (21 Grams).
If that list is any indication, we're looking at a pretty dark second film.
Catching Fire is slated for a November 22, 2013 release.

With The Muppets coming out on DVD and Blu-ray, Kermit and Co. have returned for one more of their notorious parody trailers. This time, they're doing The Hunger Games.
As in the real Hunger Games, the people just want a good show. But unlike in the real Hunger Games: hey, look! Fart shoes!
Some of those would really lighten the mood of that whole "fight to the death" thing.
The Muppets hits shelves March 20th.
