New PBS Arts web show Idea Channel kicks off with an episode about Super Mario Bros. as history's greatest work of surrealist art.

Host Mike Rugnetta makes the case that walking mushrooms and flowers that make people breathe fire are just as bizarre as the melting clocks in Dali's "The Persistence of Memory," and that Mario paved the way for accepting things like throwing birds at buildings built by pigs as totally normal.
