Joss Whedon For Romney (Sort Of) of the Day

Joss Whedon's endorsement of "Zomney" is a bit unconventional:

Like a lot of liberal Americans, I was excited when Barack Obama took office four years ago. But it's a very different world now. And Mitt Romney is a very different candidate, one with the vision and determination to cut through businesses' usual politics and finally put this country back on the path to the zombie apocalypse. Romney is ready to make the deep rollbacks in health care, education, social services, reproductive rights, that will guarantee poverty, unemployment, overpopulation, disease, rioting, all crucial elements in creating a nightmare zombie wasteland. ... Let's all embrace the future. Stop pretending we care about each other, and start hoarding canned goods. Because if Mitt takes office, sooner or later the zombies will come for all of us.

Pixar has just hired former Buffy writer Marti Noxon to scribe for an unspecified film project, further solidifying the studio's connection to the Whedonverse (Joss already gave Pixar a master class in screenwriting during his work on Toy Story, and Disney owns The Avengers).

Whatever Noxon works on, it's safe to say that quality will follow.

Marvel dropped a bombshell at their New York Comic-Con panel today, announcing Clark Gregg will reprise his role as Agent Phil Coulson in Joss Whedon's live-action television series Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. The actor made a surprise appearance at the Marvel Television Presents panel, promoting Ultimate Spiderman.

This comes as welcome news, especially after Gregg's well-received appearances in recent Marvel films. Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. will be produced by Joss and Jed Whedon, along with Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell and Jeph Loeb.

[thanks, austin!]
