It might not be absolutely confirmed, but multiple sources are reporting the character descriptions for many of the series regulars for Joss Whedon's S.H.I.E.L.D. show. No previously-established characters make the list, but that could always be because those roles (like say, Maria Hill or Agent Sitwell) don't need to be cast. As big as Marvel is right now, it'll take a lot to get Average Joe Americans to watch a cast of unknowns.

We've known that Super director James Gunn has been in negotiations for a possible director role of Marvel's The Guardians of the Galaxy, but according to a recent interview with Joss Whedon, it's sounding more and more like a confirmation.

There's no official statement yet, but Whedon seems pretty keen on Gunn's vision and twisted creativity -- specifically on making audiences interested in a Space Raccoon.

The big news broke last night that yes, Joss Whedon is returning to TV in a big way, and not with Fox. Variety is reporting that ABC has ordered a pilot for a series based on S.H.I.E.L.D., and as soon as possible.

Because of Joss' busy schedule, he will hand off the showrunning duties to Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen Whedon, but is set to direct the pilot, as long as he has time.
