What if Super Street Fighter II's world warriors got equipped with an Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device?
Well, for one thing, that car-smashing bonus stage would be a lot easier.
NECA Toys shows off the light and sound capabilities of the official replica Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device in a new video that shows off the gun's very accurate details. They left out the "actually making portals" part, but it's spot-on otherwise.
Preorders for the portal gun have sold out, but the company plans to make more of the $139.99 toys available to eager Test Subjects soon.
Last night's episode of The Simpsons revealed that the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant protects itself the same way Aperture Science does: with turrets.
Unlike at Aperture, though, the turrets are just there to guard office supplies. At the beginning of the episode, Smithers dispatches two of them with a portal gun on the way pick up a paper clip.
This raises some important questions, including "Who would be scarier to work for, Cave Johnson or Mr. Burns?" and "Where the heck did Smithers put the blue portal?"
