The long-awaited sequel to 2005's Sin City is finally moving forward, according to director Robert Rodriguez.
At SXSW, Rodriguez said that a second movie based on Frank Miller's gritty comics is on schedule to start production this summer.
Although none of the stars of the first film -- which featured Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, Benicio Del Toro, Elijah Wood and Jessica Alba -- have been officially confirmed for the sequel, Rodridguez promised Sin City 2 would have a cast "of the same caliber and eclecticism."
As for the plot, Rodriguez has previously said it will be adapted from the second Sin City comic series, A Dame to Kill For, as well as two new original stories by Miller.
The director has also indicated that the events of the new movie may take place both before and after the first Sin City.
