File this under "oddly specific."

Genius/fish owner Cedrick Bearss turned his home aquarium into a real-life version of a scene from Super Mario Bros. World 1-1.

The pipe totally makes it, but perhaps World 2-2 -- or the Minus World -- would have been more appropriate for a fishtank.

Redditor and Parent of the Year WJHuett transformed his son's room into a mini Mushroom Kingdom, adorning the walls with warp pipes, Toad, power-up mushrooms and, of course, Mario and Luigi.

What's a dad for, if not to pass the classics down to the next generation?

Johan Peitz's Super Mario Summary, created for the latest Ludum Dare game development challenge, rebuilds the original Super Mario Bros., but with only one screen to represent each level.

Condensing the levels changes the entire style of the game, turning it into more of a puzzler. To get a top score on each screen, you'll have to figure out how to get all the coins and hit the top of the flag.

Lego builder Zachary Pollock is turning to Kickstarter to help finance a Lego recreation of Super Mario Bros.' entire World 1-1, at a scale of one brick per pixel.

The finished product, called "Epic Mario," will include more than 780,000 Lego studs, and, at 90 feet long, it could be the longest Lego mosaic ever created.

Pollock is seeking $26,400 to cover bricks and mounting materials, and he plans to cover the cost of transporting the mural to conventions -- including PAX, BrickCon and Bricks Cascade -- himself.
