This amazing series of pictures comes from photographer Dulce Pinzon, who explained the concept of her project:

"The Real Story of the superheroes" reintroduce[s] the Mexican immigrant in New York in a satirical documentary style featuring ordinary men and women in their work environment donning superhero garb, thus raising questions of both our definition of heroism and our ignorance of and indifference to the workforce that fuels our ever-consuming economy.

After the success of The Avengers, Warner Bros. has finally decided to move forward with its long-awaited Justice League movie, tapping writer Will Beall (Gangster Squad, Castle) to provide the script. Beall also has his hands in a couple of upcoming remakes: Lethal Weapon and Logan's Run.

Is the push to compete with Marvel's ultimate superhero teamup enough to finally get Justice League off the ground? And if it does happen, will it be any good?

Gay Superhero Reveal of the Day

Gay Superhero Reveal of the Day

As promised, DC Comics has revealed the major DCU character they're reintroducing as gay in the New 52, And, as many have speculated, it's the Green Lantern.

Alan Scott, the only version of the Green Lantern on Earth 2, will be revealed as both homosexual and in a relationship in next week's Earth 2 #2.

While his sexual orientation is no longer a mystery, Scott's origins as the Green Lantern are still up in the air. According to DC's The Source, Scott took up the Lantern mantle after "a traumatic event." We'll learn more in issue 3.

Here's Earth 2 writer James Robinson's take on the new Alan Scott:

I'm trying to show the 'classic' Alan Scott at the same time. He's still the same dynamic, heroic guy he was. He's still the head of a media empire like he was in his prior version, but of course with the form of media changing and evolving with the times. And in many ways, his origin mirrors the original one also. Oh, and on Earth 2 there is only one Green Lantern, so Alan's title is The Green Lantern. Alan's sexuality is just one facet of him, along with his innate goodness, valor, charisma and skill at leadership that makes him the perfect man to wield the power of the green light in the world of Earth 2.

In an interview with The Advocate, Robinson also promised that Scott "won't be the only gay character in Earth 2."

Earth 2 #2 hits comic shops next Wednesday.
