New set pictures from Thor 2: Thar Dark World give us our first look at the God of Thunder's shiny new duds, and some sort of major battle scene. Let the speculation begin!

For those of you who disliked the super-CGI style of Thor 1 might be in luck. The first batch of set photos are out for Thor 2: The Dark World, taken by a fan in Bourne Woods, UK.

Director Alan Taylor must be bringing his Game of Thrones expertise into the design aesthetic, merging real locations seamlessly with fantasy architecture.

We won't know for sure until we see more, but it seems like a smart move, especially now that Thor and Loki are well-established in the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Lost's Mr. Eko, has just been cast as the villain Algrim in Thor 2: The Dark World. In comics, Algrim is a Dark Elf serving under (Christopher Eccleston's) Malekith the Accursed, and later becomes Kurse, a super-powered warrior. It's suggested that the film will follow suit.

With Tom Hiddleston's Loki returning as well, Thor is going to have a lot on his plate.

Looks like the Dark Elf rumors were true for Thor 2. It has been recently announced that Ninth Doctor Christopher Eccleston will be playing the two-toned Malekith the Accursed, ruler of the Dark Elves and sure to be a fantastic villain.

A stuntman working on Thor 2: The Dark World might have given away the film's baddies -- Dark Elves.

I had a load of stunt guys in and the director came in and he said 'Look, we want you all to be elves,' and I was like 'What the hell is an elf anyway?' and he said 'I want you all to walk around like these supernatural animals,' honestly it was the most ridiculous thing ever but you just have to not be self aware and get on with it.

Elves are nothing new to the Marvel Universe, and Norse mythology, too. But remember, this is still just a rumor.
