Courtesy of TV Guide, we've got the first look at David Morrissey as Walking Dead villain The Governor, along with assurances from Walking Dead comics creator Robert Kirkman that the TV version of the character won't disappoint.

Kirkman:

The Governor in the show is definitely going to be the Governor in the comic. I think that he's definitely going to be a character that people love to hate and are absolutely entertained by, but also somewhat terrified of. He's definitely going to be a very important character and a very nuanced character. We are not going to be watering him down.

Season 3 of The Walking Dead premieres this October.

Arrow Trailer of the Day

In a brand-new trailer for the CW's Arrow, Oliver Queen is gone, and only Arrow remains. Well, Arrow and a set of totally insane abs, anyway.

More importantly, the trailer reveals a bit more about what Arrow is up against, whether it's the wealthy and depraved of Starling City or a gunman in a black and red mask (Deathstroke? Black Mask? I guess we'll find out!)

Arrow premieres this fall.

Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne, the video game that Community's study group found itself in during the show's season finale, is now a real, actual thing you can play. Windows, OS X and Linux versions of the game were created by developer Kyle Conroy and the very enthusiastic Community fan ... uh, community ... on Reddit.

The game isn't complete yet, but you can play as any of the main study group members -- along with several supporting characters and alternate costumes -- and you can certainly stomp some hippies.

More levels will likely be added as Journey to the Center of Hawkthorne grows more popular online. The fact that recently-deposed Community creator Dan Harmon thinks the game is streets ahead sure doesn't hurt.

As Abed would say, "Cool."

HBO has announced it will begin selling life-size replicas of the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones.

Unlike the real Iron Throne, the replicas are made from fiberglass and resin instead of actual swords. But like the real Iron Throne, one of these won't be yours unless you've got plenty of money in reserve: they're selling for $30,000 a piece, plus $1,800 shipping.

Season 2 of Game of Thrones will wrap up with an extended final episode this Sunday, and showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are already looking forward to season 3, which will draw from A Storm of Swords.

Benioff and Weiss recently gave Entertainment Weekly a partial list of characters who will be introduced next season (including Jojen and Meera Reed, who were conspicuously absent from season 2).

Looks like the Reeds were just temporary casualties of Game of Thrones' huge cast, which runs the risk of turning off viewers who haven't read A Song of Ice and Fire.

Benioff:

If you hurl 300 characters at an audience, the story collapses under the weight of too many faces, too many names, and too many subplots. We need to be just as mindful of the audience members who have never read the books as we are of the readers.

With that in mind, here's the list the showrunners shared with EW (which is conveniently free of major spoilers):

  • Mance Rayder: We've heard about him all season. A former member of the Night's Watch who became the "King Beyond the Wall," the leader of the Wildlings.
  • Daario Naharis: A confident and seductive warrior.
  • Jojen Reed; Meera Reed: A teenage brother and sister duo with special insights.
  • Edmure Tully: A brash young member of the Tully family.
  • Ser Brynden Tully (The Blackfish): Catelyn Stark's uncle.
  • Lady Selyse Florent: Stannis Baratheon's wife.
  • Shireen: Stannis' daughter.
  • Olenna Redwyne (The Queen of Thorns): Margaery Tyrell's sharp-witted grandmother.
  • Beric Dondarrion: A skilled knight who is the leader of the outlaw group Brotherhood Without Banners.
  • Thoros of Myr: A red priest who follows the same religion as Melisandre.
  • Tormund Giantsbane: A Wildling raider.

Which new character are you most excited to see when the show returns next April?

"The Rains of Castamere," House Lannister's favorite revenge ballad from A Song of Ice and Fire, comes to life courtesy of indie rockers The National.

The lyrics are ripped from the pages of George R.R. Martin's novels, but the arrangement is all new. The track is due to appear on the Game of Thrones season 2 soundtrack.

This collaboration has Hipster Cersei Lannister's fingerprints all over it.

Here's the first good look at Danai Gurira as the sword-swinging heroine Michonne in AMC's The Walking Dead, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.

Although Michonne was introduced at the end of season 2, carrying a Katana and leading her two armless zombie followers, her face was obscured by a hood.

"The essence of the character — her personality, her motives, everything that makes Michonne Michonne — remains intact from the comics," said Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, "But like a lot of things on the show, there will be little tweaks and differences here and there."

Specifically, he says we're going to see Michonne interacting a lot more with Andrea, and that TV viewers will get to know the character "a lot faster than comic book readers did."

The Walking Dead returns this October.
