Casual gaming giant Zynga has acquired OMGPOP, the company that recently took Facebook and mobile devices by storm with its Pictionary-style game, Draw Something. TechCrunch reports that Zynga paid $210 million for the company, making this its biggest purchase yet.
Just last week, Draw Something topped Zynga's biggest hit -- and previous largest acquisition -- Words With Friends to become the most popular game on Facebook. Along the way, it racked up 35 million iOS and Android downloads and 1 billion total drawings in just over a month.
Although some analysts speculate that OMGPOP may have left money on the table by selling for the reported price, past history suggests that Zynga would have released its own competing drawing game if the deal hadn't gone through, thus splitting the market and hurting Draw Something's sales.
