Lindsay Lohan was set to do her opening Saturday Night Live monologue with Tina Fey, the writer who gave the actress her big break in 2004's Mean Girls, but the former SNL head writer had to cancel after her kids became ill.
"Tina was committed to doing the monologue with Lindsay but both of her children got sick," Fey's rep told the New York Daily News. "She was unable to participate as planned."
Fey has often spoken positively of the actress in the press, but after she didn't appear in the audience at Lohan's recent hosting gig, many surmised the 30 Rock star had given up on the troubled actress.
Last weekend's Lohan-hosted Saturday Night Live got mixed reviews, but ratings-wise, it was one of the most-viewed episodes of the season.
