Seriously, who invited Salazar?
Pediatrician Dr. Robert Hamilton shares a secret of the trade in how to calm a crying baby. He suggests that you hold them at a 45 degree angle and shake, shake, shake their booty.
Who knows why it works? Maybe the baby is too confused to cry any more when someone suddenly starts wiggling their butt around. If you're a parent of a newborn, this video may be lifesaving. Even if you're not it's worth the watch for the calming ambiance and adorable, tiny humans.
A Brasilian campaign called "Virtual Racism, Real Consequences" has placed Billboards in the home towns of racist internet denizens featuring their hurtful posts alongside a blurred out image and username of the offender. The project used Facebook's geo-tagging function to locate the commenters.
The organizers of the project don't want to identify anyone or give trolls more attention which is why the identifying information is blurred out. They hope that people who made these comments will come across their own words in a very public venue and realize the impact of their comments has more reach than the semi-anonymty of the internet.
They have also created a video to better explain their efforts :
This image features Carrie Fisher in 2011 compared to now after losing over 35 pounds the newest Star Wars Movie. Fisher told Good Housekeeping UK that she felt pressured to lose the weight in order to reprise her role as Princess (now General) Leia Organa.
In the interview she expressed dissapointment that after 38 years, Hollywood is still appearance obsessed, particularily when it comes to slimming down female actresses and maybe she has a point. Princess Leia, a badass in her own right (see video below if you need proof), is more often remembered for her sex symbol status in the iconic "Slave Leia" gold bikini.
The loneliest boy in all of Britain lives on an island with a population of 70 people. His name is Aron and according to the Telegraph, he is the only school aged boy on the island so his closest friends are "his dog, some ducks and flocks of sheep".
Aron used to have a few friends and brothers to play with but they all left the island to go to secondary school on another island two hours away. He's normally a pretty happy kid but his mother expressed some concern now that he's really the only kid left on the island.
This prompted a reddit user and moderator on r/Scotland to ask his fellow users to spread some holiday cheer in this post:
The response was overwhelmingly positive, but we'll probably have to wait until Christmas to see just how far the message spread when Aron recieves his cards at school.
A Youtuber who focuses on showing people how to break locks shows how easy it is to open a simple padlock. All he does it hit it with a hammer. This isn't a recommendation to go around opening padlocks but after watching this video, you may want to buy a stronger or more complicated lock to keep your things safe.
In Mustang, Oklahoma a snow storm is melting away. This includes a sheet of ice that became a perfect copy of the sign it's sliding off of. The image of this phenomenon was shared on social media to much debate, with some people questioning how the ice melted in the shape of the letters.
Elsewhere in Oklahoma, other ice signs have also been spotted.
