After four years playing President Obama on SNL, Fred Armisen is (thankfully) turning the job over to Jay Pharoah, who joined the show in 2010.
"Jay has been doing Obama in his act this summer, and Jay is coming into his own," Lorne Michaels said. "I just thought it might be time to shake it up."
(Here's a clip of Pharoah as Obama so you can decide for yourself.)
Relevant: Jason Sudeikis will reprise his roles as Mitt Romney and Joe Biden, and Taran Killam has been tapped to portray Paul Ryan.
What's with the tears? Oh yeah, that's the reaction to Kristen Wiig's final episode of SNL last night, in which Mick Jagger got to wish her away, before everyone and their mother came out to say farewell. Even Chris Kattan was there! The video can be seen here and tissues aren't included.
While it seems as though Saturday Night Live is losing some of their heavy hitters (and going into the dreaded lull of a rebuilding year), that didn't stop them from putting together a celebratory milestone clip for their 100th Digital Short, which features the likes of Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, Natalie Portman, and Jon Hamm. If this is going to be Andy Samberg's last hurrah, at least he's going out with a bang.
