This is it. We've reached peak "War on Christmas," and it isn't even December.

GOP presidential contender and deflated kickball Donald Trump is suggesting that people boycott Starbucks because of the recent controversy over their new snowflake-less Christmas coffee cups.

You see, this year Starbucks opted for a plain red coffee cup instead of a design that featured snowflakes and Christmas trees.

Some Christians are mad about this, and have started telling baristas that their name is "Merry Christmas" to force the employee to say it out loud.

Sensing some way to inject his personal brand of horrible into the conversation, Trump called for a boycott of the company at a recent rally.

"Did you read about Starbucks? No more Merry Christmas on Starbucks. No more. I wouldn't buy. Hey, look! I'm speaking against myself. I have one of the most successful Starbucks in Tump Tower. Maybe we should boycott Starbucks—I don't know."

Starbucks has just entered the "War on Christmas" with one bold, unthinkable move—having a red Christmas cup?

That's right. Some Christians are upset because the Starbucks Christmas cup for this year is plain red instead of decorated with snowflakes or Christmas trees.

As a form of protest, people have started using the hashtag #MerryChristmasStarbucks to spread the message of outrage.

And some people are saying their name is "Merry Christmas" at Starbucks so the barista has to write it on their red cup.

Jeffrey Fields, Starbucks vice president of Design & Content, had this to say about the cups:

"In the past, we have told stories with our holiday cups designs. This year we wanted to usher in the holidays with a purity of design that welcomes all of our stories."

"Starbucks has become a place of sanctuary during the holidays," he said. "We're embracing the simplicity and the quietness of it. It's more open way to usher in the holiday."

It definitely sounds like Starbucks is out to destroy Christmas. eye roll

You gotta watch out for those Starbucks lovers.

Laura Roberts, a 19-year-old customer at Starbucks in London, received a rather flirty (and cheesy) message on her coffee cup from a male barista.

The unidentified employee scratched out the hot coffee warning and left this message: "Careful you're extremely hot" with an arrow and smily face.

Calm down, lover boy!

The thing is Roberts is engaged and her mom has Facebook—both big problems. Her mom posted a photo of the cup on the Sh*t London Facebook page.

The post received tons of backlash and angry comments, but Roberts is choosing to not identify the barista.

"It's my local Starbucks and he's lovely," she told MailOnline. "He always does it."

"That day I sent a picture of the cup to my mum, because she lives quite far away and she put the picture on Facebook."

Moral of the story: Keep mom off Facebook.

Hey, we know it's still summer, but we have to talk about pumpkin spice.

In just a few short weeks, you will be able to stroll into your nearest Starbucks, wearing your recently un-closeted cardigan, and order as many pumpkin spice lattes that will fit into your gloved hands. Then you can grab pumpkin muffins, pumpkin chapstick and then some pumpkin-scented nose hair trimmers.

Well M&Ms want to join that seasonal trend and they've introduced a pumpkin spiced flavor of their own Aug. 26.

The announcement made people so skeptical that Snopes had to step in and verify that they were, in fact, real.

If you want them, however, People says that you can only find them at Target.

To encourage discussions about race relations in the United States, Starbucks has asked its baristas to write #RaceTogether on coffee cups and engage in serious conversations with customers.

Turns out that’s the last thing people a bunch of disgruntled people want first thing in the morning while waiting for their first jolt of caffeine.

CEO Howard Schultz describes the initiative as “an opportunity to begin to re-examine how we can create a more empathetic and inclusive society – one conversation at a time.”

He organized an internal meeting back in December in which employees shared stories and discussed all the recent shootings and events which inspired protests and riots from Ferguson to New York.

The company held similar forums around the country over the past few months, and now they’ve decided to extend this initiative out to their customers through the “Race Together” initiative.

Despite all the good intentions behind the campaign, it has turned into somewhat of a joke on Twitter.

After the backlash, Starbucks’ senior vice president of communications, Corey duBrowa, eventually deleted his Twitter account, which is not a good sign.

“I was personally attacked through my Twitter account around midnight last night and the tweets represented a distraction from the respectful conversation we are trying to start around Race Together,” he told Business Insider.

If you like coffee and beer, maybe this new Starbucks drink is worth a shot! Starbucks is testing what they've named the Dark Barrel Latte, a drink made with espresso and a chocolaty stout flavor and topped with whipped cream and a dark caramel drizzle. While there's no alcohol actually in the drink, many are insisting that it tastes a lot like beer.

Starbucks already sells beer and wine at some of their stores in the evening, and this fun new blend might be a good way to bridge the gap between the coffee lovers and the beer & wine enthusiasts. Many of the company's customers love trying new things and unique flavor pairings, so for now they're testing this drink to see if it has the potential to become more widely available.
