Artist Randall Rosenthal has an amazing talent of carving and panting astonishingly detailed paper objects out of wood blocks. I guess he's found a new way of making paper out of wood...
Cuphead is an upcoming run and gun video game created by Studio MDHR with a unique look that emulates cartoon art from the 1930s. The developers say the game is scheduled to release sometime in 2014 initially for the PC and then potentially to consoles after that.
The visuals and audio were painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional cel animation (hand drawn & hand inked!), watercolor backgrounds and live jazz recordings. Play as Cuphead or Mugman (single or co-op!) as you traverse the islands to find new challengers, rank up, and eventually compete in the grand tournament. You must become acquainted with the boundless variety of weapons, supers and secrets to stand a chance against all 30+ battles.
We are targeting PC first. Once that is complete we will port to other platforms (Mac/Linux) and hopefully consoles (PS4, Xbox One).
The great Michelangelo was an Italian sculptor, achitect, poet, and painter. And like anybody else, the man had to eat. But when he needed one of his servants to run to the market for a few things, he didn't just write them down like the rest of use. As you can see, the great artist made sure to be clear which items he wanted to be purchased.
All of Michelangelo's works, including this grocery list, are stored at Casa Buonarroti in Florance, Italy.
Crafts Council shows us with this fascinating video that an ordinary ceramic pot can be transformed into a living animation. The people involved were able to bring this project to fruition by setting up the artwork on a computer and then adding it to the pottery with provided specifications.
The star of the 1990 holiday hit, Home Alone, has recently released this video of him eating a slice of delicious pizza. Though it seems very strange, the video is in homage of Andy Warhol's art piece where he simply eats a Burger King Whopper. Given the time of year, one might guess that Culkin's choice of food might also be in tribute to his famed character, Kevin McCallister, whose favorite food was plain cheese pizza.
Twenty cancer patients were invited to receive full makeovers that included hair and makeup. They were asked to keep their eyes shut through the transformation, and sit in front of a one way mirror. A photographer prepped on the other side of that mirror when they open their eyes, and what he captures is an amazing reaction that, if only for a brief moment, takes them out of the pain and suffering that cancer brings to their lives.
