Bette Midler just ruined every Hocus Pocus fan's day.

After years of speculation that Midler and her co-stars would reunite for a sequel to the 1993 classic Halloween film Hocus Pocus, the songstress finally put those rumors to rest.

The answer is no—an unequivocal no.

Midler made the declaration during a Facebook Q&A this week, crushing the dreams of so many fans.

Maybe these fans should just calm down.

Bette Midler doesn't understand why all the new young pop stars are showing so much skin these days.

In a recent interview with The Telegraph, she took a swipe at Ariana Grande about using sex to sell albums.

"It's always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, a very wholesome voice, slithering around on a couch looking so ridiculous. I mean, it's silly beyond belief and I don't know who's telling her to do it," she said.

For context, here is Ariana Grande "slithering" around on stage at the AMAs this past weekend, in case you missed it:

"And now it's whatever you feel like doing you can do. I mean, apparently people really like to pretend they're having sex. They really like to slap each other's butts," Midler also said in the interview.

She's got that right. 2014 certainly was a year filled with butts - we're looking at you Nicki, Kim, Jlo and Iggy.

Ariana responded via Twitter, passive aggressively calling Midler a "sexy mermaid" and wondering where the old Bette went.

Midler finally signaled a truce, with her latest tweet.

And all was well in the world again, except not.
