Katie escaped the theater uninjured, but Caleb was shot in the eye and suffered brain damage, and he remains in a medically induced coma.

UPDATE: A website has been launched to raise money for the uninsured family of three, who face up to $2 million in medical bills. Donations so far total $240,000 in just under 48 hours.

In the meantime, Baby Hugo is doing great.

An anonymous Colorado law enforcement official is reporting -- despite a gag order -- that James Holmes, the suspect in Friday's deadly shooting, sent a notebook to a psychiatrist at the University of Colorado prior to the massacre that was "full of details about how he was going to kill people."

The official says the notebook was sitting in a university mailroom for almost two weeks:

Inside the package was a notebook full of details about how he was going to kill people… There were drawings of what he was going to do in it — drawings and illustrations of the massacre. Among the images shown in the spiral-bound notebook's pages were gun-wielding stick figures blowing away other stick figures.

The notebook reportedly is in the hands of the FBI, which is refusing to comment under the gag order.

Christian Bale has arrived at Aurora, CO's Swedish Medical Center to visit many of the recovering victims of last week's tragic shooting.

A movement has been circulating on social media networks for Bale to appear as Batman, but it seems the actor made a tasteful choice to leave the cape and cowl at home. More pictures of the visit can be seen here.

This Is All Kinds Of Wrong of the Day

Since Friday's massacre at a Colorado movie theater that killed 12, a number of Facebook pages have popped up paying tribute to alleged shooter James Holmes.

The largest and most horrifying page, written as if by Holmes himself, was launched Friday, before many of the victims had even been identified. The frequent posts are intended to shock -- they mock the victims of the shooting, and one includes a Photoshopped image of Holmes receiving the Medal of Honor from President Obama.

Now, four days later, the page remains active, despite numerous requests to Facebook to shut it down:

The anonymous author of the fan page has commented on nearly every photo and is often ridiculing people who are expressing their disgust at the page that many have commented, "goes too far" and is "too soon." He also has posted a note that says the page has been reported numerous times to Facebook and "nothing has happened." It's not possible to tell how often or if the page has been flagged by other users, but it features comments from thousands of Facebook users who are calling for its deletion using profanity-laced language and threats to the faux Facebook Holmes.

Still, it's heartening that most of the reactions have been negative. Here's the best Facebook comment, as judged by Denver blogger Michael Roberts:

The amount of comments against this kind of humor is actually a positive thing. I'm glad that although many people cannot spell or use grammar, they are still not as f**ked up as I thought Americans were. ♥ oh and whoever made this page needs to be sterilized.

James Holmes -- the suspect in Friday's mass shooting at an Aurora, CO, premiere of The Dark Knight Rises that killed 12 and wounded nearly 50 -- appeared in court for the first time this morning.

Holmes, who sported red hair and appeared sedated, was informed that he will be formally charged next Monday with first degree murder. He will kept in custody until then on a no-bail hold.

Colorado Shooting Update of the Day

Saturday brought inconsolable grief to families of slain theater-goers, as authorities began to identify the deceased in the shooting at an Aurora, CO movie theater. Authorities and eyewitnesses have also helped piece together an idea of how the horrific scene played out early Friday morning.

The Denver Post released an info graphic of the theater, which sheds light on alleged gunman James Holmes' path of destruction. The Post also compiled an image of the type of armor and weapons Holmes is reported to have used in the attack.

President Barack Obama, in his weekly address, spoke about the incident and offered the support of the federal government in bringing the perpetrator to justice.

Police set off a small, controlled explosion at Holmes' apartment, and the police department is "confident that they've eliminated all major threats inside the apartment."

Christian Bale, star of The Dark Knight Rises, is the latest person associated with the film to express remorse over the incident:

Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them.

The suspect, James Holmes, is locked in solitary confinement. He has exhibited irrational behavior and remains on suicide watch, while other inmates talk about wanting to kill him.

National tragedies don't come without at least one group making outrageous claims as to who is ultimately responsible. Fred Jackson of the American Family Association wasted little time blaming the ACLU, gays and liberal churches.

James Holmes, the 24-year-old gunman who killed 12 at a midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises early today, is alleged to have been dressed as the Joker at the time of the shooting, according to NYPD Police Commissioner Ray Kelly:

We have some information, most of it is public. It clearly looks like a deranged individual. He had his hair painted red, he said he was "The Joker," obviously the "enemy" of Batman.

Earlier reports say Holmes was dressed in full body armor. Kelly and his spokesman have not said who briefed him.

Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates would not confirm the information about Holmes, but confirmed he had spoken to Kelly.
