Looks like this cosplayer needs to work on a new part to his costume:
And here we have Russell Crowe channeling
Tom Hanks in Castaway Noah -- the guy tasked with building the Ark -- for Darren Aronofsky's biblical follow-up to Black Swan.
The kickass cast includes Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, and Anthony Hopkins. Noah is due in theaters March 2014.
Daniel Day-Lewis channels the Great Emancipator for Steven Spielberg's Lincoln, in theaters November 9 -- just in time for awards season.
Entertainment Weekly offers a peek on set:
There are numerous reports about Day-Lewis attempting to fully immerse himself in the mindset of someone who lived during the mid-1860s by avoiding the trappings of 21st — not to mention 20th — century life during the shoot, but Spielberg says his star never delved so deeply into character that he refused to acknowledge the modern world. "Daniel was always conscious of his contemporary surroundings," Spielberg says. "Daniel never went into a fugue state. ... All that stuff is just more about gossip than it is about technique." People on set did refer to the actor as "Mr. President," including Spielberg, but the director says that was just part of the effort to maintain atmosphere. "I was calling [all] the actors by their character names," he says. "That was something I felt was important to establish a little authenticity, maybe even more for me than for them."
Disney has released its first pic of Angelina Jolie as the villain in the upcoming Maleficent, and the casting obviously is perfection. The film, scheduled for March 2014, will tell the backstory of the dark queen from the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty.
"I've already got my horns fitted. My kids are very happy," Jolie, who also is producing the film, told EW earlier this year.
Bonus: Elle Fanning plays Aurora!
The first footage from SyFy's Battlestar Galactica prequel, Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome, shown at WonderCon this past weekend, has made its way online.
Starring Luke Pasqualino as young William Adama, the show is set in the tenth year of the First Cylon War, and follows the high-flying adventures of the Colonial fleet's newest battlestar, the Galactica.
Blood & Chrome does not yet have an official premiere date, but composer Bear McCreary revealed just last month that scoring of the two-hour pilot had been completed.
First Look of the Day: Straight from the horse's mouth (i.e., Jerry Bruckheimer's Twitter feed) comes the first look at Armie Hammer as the Lone Ranger and Johnny Depp as his faithful sidekick Tonto in Gore Verbinski's feature-film adaptation of the iconic tale of Old West vigilantism.
The Lone Ranger is scheduled to be released May 31st, 2013.
Sneak Peek of the Day: First look at Troy and Abed being Troy and Abed (yes, that is Pierce's dad's ivory hairpiece) in the upcoming hiatus-ending episode of Community, "Urban Matrimony and the Sandwich Arts," which is set to air Thursday, March 15th @ 8:00 PM.
A few more preview still here.
