Have you met IKEA Monkey, the 7-month-old runaway primate dressed in a shearling coat that was found casually wandering around a Toronto IKEA store yesterday? According to the National Post, the monkey was spotted by staff members in the store's upper parking lot after escaping out of the cage and the car belong to its (now former) owners. This picture (shown left) was subsequently posted online by Bronwyn Page via Twitter, where the fashionable simian has already become a meme of sorts.

In a natural next step for the Swedish furniture giant, Ikea is building its own town, in East London. The neighborhood, called Strand East, will feature 1,200 homes and apartments in the Scandinavian style, and all will be rentals. Says Harald Müller, the head of Ikea's real estate arm: "We're just securing our money long-term –- and of course creating more profits at the end."
