After decades of inspiring unattainable beauty standards, Barbie finally got a slightly more realistic makeover. Featuring tall, short, and plump Barbies, kids could finally get one that looks a little more like them.

Not one minute after Barbie's new looks were announced, the (mostly male) people cried out, "Where's my Dadbod Ken?".  Well here he is, in all his Dadly glory.  Lyst, a clothing retailer, hired someone to do this mock-up of realistic Kens. There's beach Dadbod Ken, chubby, balding Ken. They also added in petite, hipster, Black and Asian Ken dolls to add to the line of realistic Kens.

Quasimodo has Short Spine Syndrome, a very rare condition among dogs. It's exactly what it sounds like, he was born with a spine that's shorter than a normal dog because he is missing some vertebra.

His condition doesn't cause him pain but he does need special medical attention for other health conditions. He's been getting lots of love from foster homes since being rescued. Now that he's in the care of Second Hand Hounds he's managed to bring some much needed attention to the organization that rescues dogs (and cats) in dire need and places them in foster homes.

Hooray! North Americans get ready for warmer weather.  Tradition holds that today is the day a groundhog comes out of his hole. If he sees his shadow there will be six more weeks of winter but if he comes out and doesn't see his shadow, like today, then an early spring is just around the corner.

Although...

Felix used to be an everyday cat, just working her day job keeping mice at bay at Huddersfield Station in West Yorkshire, England.  She was brought in at only nine weeks old to help take control of the pests in the station and she really grew into the role.

After five years of hard work she finally got the promotion she deserves. No longer is she a simple mouse catcher. She is now Senior Pest Controller, complete with the adorable visibility jacket, name tag and authority that goes with the title.  Let's hope she uses her newly appointed power benevolently.

The Mars Curiosity rover is no stranger to selfies. This is a composite of 57 images taken from the camera at the end of the rover's arm called the Mars Hand Lens Imager (MAHLI). It's on top of a sand dune called 'Namib Dune', taking samples of sand to study the composition of sand dunes on Mars and the way they behave in Mars' atmosphere.

It even took a close up picture of the sand it's been scooping up.

An earlier theory used to be that the moon hit the Earth on the side (as in the video below) but this stunning image is a reconstruction by scientists who say that it was a head-on collision that caused the impact.

Edward Young, lead scientist of this study told UCLA Newsroom that they drew this conclusion from the fact that the Earth and the Moon are overwhelmingly made of the same materials.

“Theia was thoroughly mixed into both the Earth and the moon, and evenly dispersed between them,” Young said. “This explains why we don’t see a different signature of Theia in the moon versus the Earth.”

For whatever reason, the internet has just caught onto the fact that the fat child who ate an entire cake on Matilda hit puberty and came out the other end as a pretty good looking dude.  You may not have been aware, but someone made the cast of Matilda get together and reenact favorite fan moments at a reunion for a bonus feature in a 2013 edition of the movie.

For those of you who have just discovered a new celebrity crush, here's the scene with him all grown up:
