With Miley Cyrus hosting the VMAs yesterday, there was no question that this would be one crazy show. But the most shocking moment last night came from Yeezus himself.

After accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, and in classic mic drop fashion, Kanye West informed the world that he plans to run for President in 2020.

"It's about ideas, bro. New ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth," he said. "And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president."

Obviously the Internet freaked out.

Could it be? Kanye/Swift 2020?

We'd also have to deal with this...so maybe not.

Kanye West has teamed up with fashion's foremost filmmaker, Ruth Hogben, on the video for "Lost in the World," the latest single from his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The video, in "breaking the mold of the popular rap aesthetic," may be just the thing to restore West's credibility in the fashion world.

French Socialist presidential candidate François Hollande -- who leads incumbent Nicolas Sarkozy after the first round of voting -- has co-opted Jay-Z and Kanye West's anthem "Ni*as In Paris" for his latest campaign ad. The song backgrounds footage that shows Hollande campaigning in the outer Parisian suburbs among people of various ethnic backgrounds, as they hold up their voter registration cards. And Slate helpfully points out: "Creil," one of the suburbs Hollande campaigns in during the ad, is pronounced "cray" as in, "That sht Creil."

Despite the perhaps questionable song choice, Hollande's general play is a smart one -- Sarkozy has a lousy history with the outer regions of the Paris metro area, where a high percentage of racial minority and immigrant populations live. The next round of voting is May 6.
