The 'Internet of Things' is a phrase people keep bringing up that references the real life trend toward a world where all your things have become working props in a science fiction movie. Kind of like this:

Let's be honest, so far this neat idea has mostly translated into putting a touchscreen on everything. That's why Max Braun got crafty and made his own futuristic mirror using Google's Android system. So far it automatically shows the weather, the time and the day's headlines but he hopes to include more.  He's also made a diagram showing what makes the mirror tick.

Elizabeth Banks just made a promise to bring Rita Repulsa, the most memorable Power Rangers villain, back from the dead.

Mystery surrounds the nature of the new Power Rangers reboot but it probably won't be very similar to the well recieved "gritty" NSFW short unauthorized reboot everyone was talking about last year.

Matthew Wood, supervising sound editor for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has just written a long, detailed list of the voices in the background of the latest Star Wars movie. He writes:

Part of Skywalker Sound’s and John Williams’ job is to complement the visuals ofStar Wars and enhance the storytelling with a rich audio soundtrack. Just as our sound designers have to create sound effects for new weapons, vehicles, and ambiences, the dialogue department will turn to voice actors to populate these new worlds. And so it was with The Force Awakens.

You may have seen a section in the credits of The Force Awakens titled “Additional Voices,” with some familiar names listed. But who or what did all those familiar names play? I’m happy to finally reveal everyone below, running through the film chronologically.

It seems like a thankless job that is pretty important to making the world of the movie seem real. Notable examples of voice contributions include:

“BLAH!” — Matthew Wood and David Acord

“Blast ‘em!” — Matthew Wood

Stormtrooper (fights Finn with riot baton): “Traitor!” (fight efforts) — David Acord

“Hey!” — David Collins

“Ma’am.” — Meredith Salenger

“Hey!” — Nigel Godrich

Very distorted commands — Devon Libran and Sam Witwer

And of course, the Kevin Smith cameo you've probably heard about by now:

Stormtrooper (reacts to incoming Resistance fighters): “We have incoming at 28.6! Move!” — Kevin Smith

Production assistants who worked on blockbuster films such as 'The Wolf of Wall Street' and 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' who were in charge of parking are now suing Paramount Pictures and other associated production companies.

The suit claims that they were not allowed to leave their assigned locations, which led them to start keeping "bottles and buckets" in their vehicles for any inevitable bathroom breaks.

On top of that, they claim that in cold weather they had to leave their cars running continuously but were never compensated for it.  And they had to work 60-100 hours a week regularly while being paid a flat rate of $150 a day without overtime. They were also not given food on set during their 12-hour-on-average days.

The suit is an attempt by the PAs to get compensation for such poor working conditions.

In light of the massive success of Star Wars VII, Disney has moved the release date of Star Wars VIII from late May 2017 to December 15, 2017.  They released a statement explaining their logic and providing some facts on the record breaking success of the seventh Star Wars movie.

The move follows the extraordinary success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which was the first Star Wars movie to premiere outside the traditional summer blockbuster window and smashed numerous records, including biggest domestic and global debuts of all time as well as the biggest domestic second and third weekends, en route to becoming the highest grossing domestic release of all time with over $861.3 million and the third biggest global release ever with $1.886.7 billion.

A new 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie will be taking the May release date formerly reserved for Star Wars.

Who has time to watch all the movies nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars just to keep up with pop culture? For the record, that's 17 hours and 29 minutes that could be spent aimlessly surfing the internet. This film is about a woman who is kidnapped by a survivalist who claims he saved her life and forces her to stay with him in his survival bunker. It was originally going to be called 'Valencia' but it was all a trick!

The twist here is that the creepy survivalist kidnapper totally did save her life because this is the SEQUEL TO CLOVERFIELD. Actually, according to Collider, J.J. Abrams has called it more of a "blood relative" than a direct sequel.

The movie is still going to be directed by Dan Trachenburg who got a lot of attention in the past for his short film based on the video game Portal.
