The Korean singer PSY issued an apology today following the revelation of his 2004 live performance of an anti-American song titled "Dear American." in which the singer takes some harsh shots at the U.S. military:
Kill those f---ing Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives
Kill those f---ing Yankees who ordered them to torture
Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers
Kill them all slowly and painfully.
The song was actually written by a South Korean metal band called N.E.X.T. and performed by PSY and number of other Korean pop stars alongside the band during an anti-Iraq war protest concert in 2004, which was largely held in response to the beheading of a South Korean missionary in Iraq earlier that year. The song itself was written two years prior in 2002, shortly after an American military vehicle fatally ran over two high school girls and sparked a wave of anti-American sentiments across the country.
