Hunger Games actor and professional teenager, Josh Hutcherson, had to learn the hard way that when you're famous, you can't waltz into a grocery store to buy booze, despite being a minor, and think that the world will not know -- but he did it anyway. Not to say that minors don't drink alcohol (probably shouldn't), but since Peeta didn't get hit with a "Minor in Possession" charge, he just proved that celebrities can pretty much get away with most petty crimes.

In a story that can be adapted for another Flipper sequel or reboot, rescuers are trying to save a dolphin that's stranded in wetlands along the California coast. It's difficult to tell whether the dolphin just doesn't know how to get back to the open waters of the ocean, or if it's trying get a plum role in an episode of How I Met Your Mother.

This guy was on the receiving end of a taser and an all-around police beatdown and obviously lost. When the case went to trial, the Portland city attorney, representing the arresting officer, tried using the reasoning that the suspect owned a kung-fu movie collection, so the brutality was justified. The jury wasn't convinced and now the city is paying out $250,000, which should buy some decent self-defense lessons in addition to new kung-fu DVDs.

Patrick Dempsey plays a doctor on Grey's Anatomy, so naturally, when he saw a car flipped over in Malibu, the actor pulled the teenage driver out and stayed with him until paramedics arrived. While this definitely makes Dempsey a do-gooder, one can hope that he could perform his role from Loverboy, where he played a pizza delivery boy/gigolo, as his next screen-to-real-life project.

This weekend marks the 20th anniversary of the L.A. Riots, a violent outbreak that occurred in the wake of four white police officers who were found "not guilty" for the beating of African-American motorist Rodney King. As is such, someone made @RealTimeLARiots, a Twitter account that chronicles what happened during those turbulent days in the aforementioned real time format. It's an interesting take on what social media would have looked like had it existed in the early 90s.

While conservative Americans keep misinterpreting President Obama as a socialist, France went out of their way to elect a legitimate socialist candidate, Francois Hollande, who won the first round of elections, trouncing incumbent Nicolas Sarkozy. Hollande's hypothetical victory could also mean socialism is redefined for some Americans, having only heard of it through criticisms of President Obama and marathon viewings of Red Dawn.
