Adam McKay and Will Ferrell catapulted their entertainment website, Funny or Die, back in '07 with an unrivaled viral hit sketch, 'The Landlord.'

In a recent interview, McKay disclosed some details about how such a masterpiece originated.

McKay went on to say his toddler, Pearl, was in a phase where she'd repeat back anything said to her. We're talking as far as Public Enemy lyrics.

This inspired his idea for a little short with his guest Will Ferrell, and the rest speaks for itself.

Following her immediate success, toddler Pearl was on the edge of her big break. She was offered a guest spot on Ellen, a spread in People magazine, and even a little role in a Jackie Chan flick. Her parents turned down all offers on her behalf.

Nowadays, little ten-year-old Pearl's untouched by any of her earlier fame. Who would've thunk it?

There's a new Santa in town, and this guy prefers to sit in your lap.

Yes, it seems Buddy the Elf's been promoted. Will Ferrel showed up at Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night looking like the unaborted lovechild of a Backstreet Boy and Mrs. Clause. Ferrel went on to drag out a fratastic dialogue, all the while clad in an all too revealing Christmas-themed cutoff that'd impress the likes of fashion titan Mugatu.

So make sure to be good this year, because we don't even want to know what happens to the dudes on the naughty list.

Case Claused.

Here's what Will Ferrell has to say:

Hello people of the interwebs, it's Will Ferrell.

If you're interested in winning the most amazing prize in the history of mankind while helping out a great cause, keep reading. If not, please take a moment to throw your computer in a lake.

For just a small donation to help my favorite charity Cancer For College, you'll be entered for a chance to join me at... wait for it... our big Desert Showdown in beautiful Palm Springs, California on March 3 & 4. At the event, I will not only show you how to play golf (if you are at all interested), but we might possibly race golf carts, make sock puppets and enjoy a sensible lunch together with only the finest bottled water.

In addition, you will receive tickets to our Desert Smash Celebrity Tennis event that will feature some of the biggest names in entertainment and professional tennis. Other cool people who are scheduled to participate include Kevin Spacey and Novak Djokovic.

To re-cap: You. Me. Grass. A gentle breeze and some balls. The whole shebang. The prize includes flights from wherever you are in the world with accommodations for you and a friend too at the world-famous La Quinta Resort. There is no physical way you can get a better prize than this. We've done the research. It's science.
