After donating $10,000 each to Andrew Hussie's Homestuck Kickstarter last year, two lucky fans got to see their original troll characters become canon today. 11-year-old David Williams told off members of the Dallas City Council for being rude to their constituents last week after asking how to keep children safe in schools without arming teachers with dangerous weapons. The council members seemed to be distracted by other matters, prompting the young boy to ask "Do you feel it is acceptable for City Council members to be up and walking while their constituents are addressing them?" David was subsequently asked by reporters if he wished to join the city council in the future, to which he replied he would rather be President of the United States.

Last week, the Manhattan Transit Authority shared 36 photos showing the progress made to the tunnels that are being created as part of the East Side Access project. Built between 2006 and 2011 by a 22-foot-wide excavator, these tunnels will allow the Long Island Railroad to reach Grand Central Station for the first time. They are expected to be operational in 2019, doing 162,000 passenger trips to and from Grand Central per day.

A study published Monday by the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society argues that most web sites can be connected in 19 clicks or less, thanks to search engines, aggregators and social networking sites. Though the news may seem new, a blogger named Samantha Orme registered the domain 19clicks.com in 2005, comparing it to the six degrees of separation theory. One can only wonder how many clicks it takes to get to Kevin Bacon?

Identical twin brothers in France are being held in police custody after police DNA tests were inconclusive over which one of them committed a sexual assault. The test did confirm that one of the 24-year-old unemployed delivery drivers, Elwin or Yohan, did commit six sexual assaults throughout Marseille between September 2012 and January 2013. However, since their DNA is nearly identical and a victim could not tell them apart in a lineup, the real perpetrator is unknown. Police would have to shell out nearly 1 million Euros (roughly than $1,319,285 USD) to pay for a sophisticated test that would be able to parse the minute differences in the twins' DNA.

An audio recording purporting to be taken from a police scanner during the Big Bear shootout with fugitive Chris Dorner suggests that police may have intentionally set fire to the cabin he had been occupying. A charred corpse has since been found among the rubble of the burnt down cabin. The San Bernardino County sheriff's office has remained silent about the cause of the fire, stating that they will be answering questions at a press conference this afternoon at 4pm PST.
