Sure, parents are annoying — what with the “pick up your room,” “what are you doing with your life,” and “no, you cannot turn the garage into something called the ‘Chill Zone.’”

But sometimes, they’re just really scary — like when they threaten to throw away your velvet painting of Hendrix wailing on his axe because you won’t just “move out already.”

Meet Zoë Baumann, for instance. According to her Twitter, her mother dressed up like her dog. While this might be just a way to get her to “clean the pot after making mac and cheese at 4am,” or, simply, this is a Halloween costume, Zoë, nevertheless, brought her personal punishment to Twitter, who had a field day with this.

Check out some of the best responses to Zoë's mom dressed as her dog.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, when company Christmas parties begin springing up across the world. Who will have too much to drink and end up with a lampshade on their head? Probably you.

But that’s not really a huge problem in Austria because everyone’s afraid to leave their house? Why? What’s to be afraid of on Christmas? How about Krampus, the Austro-Bavaria Apliine folk-beast? Krampus is half goat, half demon, half party animal, and all evil.

Who would want to celebrate this kind of thing? Duh doi. The Austrians, who paraded Krampus costumes in the streets on Saturday for their annual Krampusnacht festival. Watch in horror as these anthropomorphic goat demons stalk the streets, threatening to beat bad children who will be praying for coal after a visit from this horned monster.

According to The Telegraph, “Thousands of people gather in Hollabrunn Market Square, Austria, to watch more than 120 Krampus impersonators take to the streets.”

Check out some terrifying footage of the festival. These costumes are amazing:

Whatever. This thing still isn’t scarier than Elf on a Shelf. Get outta here with that thing.

Go Ahead Tours' customer relation team nailed Halloween this year with this amazing photoshoot.

"We vote on a theme, then cast who will play which character.

"Most of us spend those two months gathering pieces of our costumes and putting it together. This year, a group of us spent the whole week before Halloween cutting and spray-painting pieces of cardboard to create our Iron Throne."

This fight night was put on to raise money for Charity Vision, which Mitt Romney's son is president of. That explains why Romney was there to show his support but it doesn't entirely offer an explanation to why he dressed up as Nacho Libre and went into the ring.

The main event featured Oscar De La Hoya and Mario Lopez but they were interrupted by two masked luchadores. Those luchadores were then interrupted by Nacho Libre, who turned out to actually be Mitt Romney in disguise?

Last time this event took place, Mitt Romney entered the ring in a boxing match with Evander Holyfield so this time he had to step it up a notch.

This Texas high school student went to an off campus party dressed as Tupac Shakur, if you can call lazily slathering on black makeup and wearing a Tupac t-shirt a costume. As you can imagine, this caused outrage among fellow students.  While there are some who still support her, a lot of others are calling for some kind of punishment. To be fair, because it went viral on the internet and people on the internet are sometimes terrible, she's now receiving death threats so maybe that's punishment enough.
