The Black Keys' Apology Attempt of the Day

- -

The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney gave Nickelback a half-hearted apology in a recent interview, after saying back in January that the Canadian band was the reason "rock'n'roll is dying."

"I didn't mean to single them out, it just came out. There's much worse bands that Nickleback…maybe," Carney told the reporter before bursting into a fit of laughter. "That was the worst apology."

Earlier this year, the drummer told Rolling Stone that "Rock'n'roll is dying because people became OK with Nickelback being the biggest band in the world." He added that he didn't like to see rock ruined by "watered-down, post-grunge crap."

Soon after, Nickelback tweeted: "Thanks to the drummer in The Black Keys calling us the Biggest Band in the World in Rolling Stone. Hehe"
