Chris Rock is producing a new TV project starring comedian W. Kamau Bell, which will be based on his one-man show, The W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism in About an Hour.
The new series shoots in New York and will feature Bell riffing on current events with a few guest comedians. It premieres in August on FX and will run for six episodes.
Bell met Rock in 2010 when the famous comedian slipped in to see his one-man show in New York City and ended up backstage giving Bell career advice.
The new series is described as mix between The Daily Show and other traditional late-night shows.
"I have six episodes to make a mark on Hollywood — or a scar on Hollywood," Bell told LaughSpin. "We'll see how it goes."
