Amandla Stenberg, the 13-year-old who plays Rue in The Hunger Games film, has responded to the barrage of racist tweets that came her way from alleged fans of the book series.

"As a fan of the books, I feel fortunate to be part of The Hunger Games family," read her statement to Us Weekly. "It was an amazing experience; I am proud of the film and my performance. I want to thank all of my fans and the entire Hunger Games community for their support and loyalty."

Both Stenberg and Dayo Okeniyi, who played Thresh, were the subject of many racist tweets over the opening weekend of the film.

In the book, written by Suzanne Collins, both characters are described as having "dark brown skin," but there was an outcry from racist fans who were upset by the casting of black actors.

Okeniyi's rep said the actor had no comment.

Over the weekend, Miley Cyrus was spotted showing off a new ring, which led many to speculate that the singer had gotten engaged to her boyfriend, Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth.

Despite the buzz, a source close to the former Hannah Montana star told Us Weekly that the rock is not an engagement ring.

Cyrus first showed off the dazzler on Twitter, when she tweeted a picture of a manicure.

"I am soooo obsessed with @jennahipp nail foundations!" she wrote, staying mum about her new jewelry. "It looks so chic and classic!"

Last night in New York City, Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence showed up to a screening of her new film wearing a plunging green frock from the Calvin Klein Collection.

While it's not exactly a fashion tragedy, I'm also not sure this look was what Calvin Klein was going for when he designed it.

Also, she's starring in the latest tween movie sensation, shouldn't someone get her a pair of Jimmy Choos that fit?

Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence is the latest star to take on the Kardashian epidemic in the press, and compared her latest film to the hubbub over Kim Kardashian's divorce.

"I was watching the Kardashian girl [Kim] getting divorced, and that's a tragedy for anyone," she told Parade. "But they're using it for entertainment, and we're watching it."

Lawrence says The Hunger Games books, which feature a post-apocalyptic society that forces children to fight to their deaths in a broadcasted battle, "hold[s] up a terrible kind of mirror: This is what our society could be like if we became desensitized to trauma and to each other's pain."

The big screen adaptation of the book, also written by series author Suzanne Collins, stars Lawrence and will be released March 23rd.

We're not going to disagree with her point, but "the Kardashian girl?" If you're going to use Kardashian's name to drum up publicity for your new film, have the decency to say it. Even Jon Hamm knows that.
