The long-awaited sequel to 1994's Dumb and Dumber is finally looking like a reality, with a shooting schedule that will begin in September.

"We're getting set to shoot Dumb and Dumber 2 in September," said director Peter Farrelly at an event for The Three Stooges. "It's the first sequel we've ever done and we've got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back."

A prequel to the original film was released in 2003, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, but Farrelly said the upcoming sequel will be much different.

"That was a studio thing," added the director. "So we've always wanted to do a sequel and finally Jim called up. Jeff always wanted to do it. We always wanted to do it."
