Model Lauren Scruggs, who lost her left eye and left hand after walking into a plane propeller, has finally reached a legal settlement of $2 million with the insurance companies for the pilot and the plane's owner.
Aggressive Insurance Services reportedly offered her the minimum payout of $200,000, but Scruggs' team eventually negotiated a seven-figure settlement after citing medical bills, lost wages, future lost income, and pain and suffering.
A settlement from the other insurance company brings the total to around $2 million.
On December 3rd, the part-time model had landed at a private airport north of Dallas after a trip to view holiday lights. Curt Richmond, the pilot, left the propeller running as she exited the plane, and she unknowingly walked into the machinery at the front of the aircraft.
Now that a settlement has been reached, she is reportedly entertaining the idea of writing an "inspirational" book (with a ghostwriter) about her experiences.
Scruggs will most likely settle the potential book deal before she makes any TV appearances.
