2-year-old Kayden Elijah was born with omphalocele, a birth defect that causes his intestines and other abdominal organs to stick out of his navel. Due to complications, he had to have his right foot and left leg amputated.

The San Diego Zoo's newest panda -- nicknamed "Sausage" until he is formally named -- is 11 weeks old and attempting his first steps.

Bonus: The zoo has its own Panda Cam, which alternates between the panda enclosure and the den, where the panda cub can often be found sleeping.
