Anti-vaxxers! Flat earthers! Crackpots! Anti-adoption advocates! The deluded, misinformed and entitled all in one place!
If you've been to 4chan's /mu/ (music) board in the past couple of years, you're probably familiar with the community's obsession over the '90s indie rock band Neutral Milk Hotel and its mysterious frontman Jeff Mangum. And if you've listened to Neutral Milk hotel's 1998 breakout album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, you might be also aware of Mangum's obsession with Anne Frank. Inevitably, a group of tin foil hatters over at /mu/ have put the two pieces together into a hilariously wacky conspiracy theory that Jeff Mangum traveled back in time to rescue Anne Frank, brought her back to the future to grow up together posing as siblings and eventually married her in his adulthood. Read more about the story over at The Ithacan.
