It's been a good year for soccer memes. Earlier this week, a goofy photo of Marouane Fellaini being hit in the face by a soccer ball began circulating on the internet. The high quality photo, which shows the Manchester United player's face looking all kinds of contorted, was just begging to get the Photoshop meme treatment.
While this meme may not reach Ronaldo meme levels, the internet has certainly come through. Even better? Fellaini has a sense of humorabout the situation - he actually tweeted the photo and thanked the fans who had been roasting him. We all have to laugh at ourselves sometimes.
Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar were spotted together at an LA Clippers Basketball game watching intently. Their expressions unsurprisingly led to some jokes at their expense on the internet.
Jay-Z just wants to watch the game guys, can't you put your differences aside?
Eventually, though, they found some common ground.
Since Beyoncé dropped her newest single, 'Formation', people have been engaged in debate. A lot of people have been complaining that Beyoncé's references to Black history and culture in her song, video and Super Bowl halftime show didn't belong in such a 'family friendly' broadcast like Super Bowl 50. Supporters of the song have pointed out that Beyoncé is, in fact, Black. As this Saturday Night Live sketch points out, it's not really that shocking that a Black woman would make reference to who she is and her heritage in her music. It's actually pretty silly to make such a big deal about it.
For reference, you can watch the 'Formation' video to see what all the fuss is about:
GoFundMe is a crowdfunding website that's becoming notorious as a place for people to ask friends and family to donate to their frivolous cause. Sure, there are people asking for help with charity, life-threatening illness and general disaster. There are also many people asking for money to buy tickets to Beyonce's Formation Tour.
Most of the campaigns also include a paragraph about how much they love Beyonce and how their dreams of finally seeing her will come true. Some are more simple than that, but at least honest.
Another campaigner wants $2,000 for FRONT ROW seats. She also has a paragraph about her love of Beyonce and here's how she explains her reasoning for asking for money to buy a $2,000 concert ticket:
Help me get to front row, and please don't hate I just figure everyone else has a fund so why not Addie? Give until it hurts people! #FormtionTour #Addieonfrontrow
She's got a point, if everyone else is doing it why no go big?
Jenna Dewan-Tatum turned her husband's well-watch 'Magic Mike' bit around on him during an episode of Lip Sync Battle and nails it.
So this happened, and you just "can't even" because you are literally dying.
The British Royal Family met the royal family of the United States on Monday at the Brooklyn Nets vs Cleveland Cavaliers game in New York.
Jay-Z and Beyonce walked over to meet and greet Prince William and Kate Middleton during the 3rd and 4th quarters, while "God Save the Queen" and "Crazy In Love" blasted through the Barclays Center, according to US Weekly.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are in the U.S. for a three-day tour, and the epic basketball game meetup followed a brief meeting with President Obama Monday at the White House.
When 24-year-old Odd Future member Frank Ocean admitted on Tumblr last week to falling in love with a man, it was quite the shock to the hip-hop world, notorious for its tendency to disparage gays.
Nonetheless, Ocean's bandmate Tyler, the Creator tweeted a classy congrats, and Def Jam's Russell Simmons said Ocean "changed the game" for hip hop in a positive way.
Now, industry royalty Beyoncé and Jay-Z have joined the ranks of Ocean's supporters.
Beyoncé, whose track "I Miss You" was written by Ocean, posted a pic of Ocean to her site over the weekend. The overlay reads:
Be fearless / Be honest / Be generous / Be brave / Be poetic / Be open / Be free / Be yourself / Be in love / Be happy / Be inspiration.
Beyoncé's show of support was one-upped only by hubby Jay-Z -- a powerful missive to Ocean (penned by dream hampton) on his site is more than worth a full read, but here's the money excerpt:
We admire the great courage and beauty and fearlessness in your coming out, not only as a bisexual Black man, but as a broken hearted one. The tender irony that your letter is to a boy who was unable to return your love until years later because he was living a lie is the only truly tragic detail about your letter.
Today is apparently National Puppy Day, and what better way to celebrate than with a feel-good puppy story?
Beyonce the teeny tiny two-week-old puppy was named after the pop singer because, just like her namesake, she too is a survivor.
Born not breathing, Beyonce had to be resuscitated through CPR. Cheating death is apparently a trait Beyonce inherited from her mom, a stray who was almost euthanized.
As if that weren't enough amazing to last the rest of National Puppy Day, the litter Beyonce was born into was almost aborted.
After all that I think I'm going to need a few dozen more National Puppy Days to calm my nerves. Any objections? Didn't think so.
